Curriculum Evaluation

The curriculum development and evaluation of the Master’s Programme in Biology are based on a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis from the programme's self-evaluation, considering advancements in biological sciences and technology. The process includes:

  • Relevant Regulations:

    • Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3/2020 on National Standards for Higher Education

    • Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) Level 8 for Master's Degree

    • Guidelines for Higher Education Curriculum Development based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

  • Stakeholder Inputs:

    • Lecturers, students, alumni, and graduate users (research institutions, industry, government agencies)

    • Workshops and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to align the curriculum with labor market needs and scientific developments

  • CIPP Model-Based Evaluation:

    • Context: Alignment of the programme's vision, mission, and objectives with national and global needs

    • Input: Quality of incoming students, faculty qualifications, and availability of facilities

    • Process: Implementation of teaching and learning, instructional methods, and assessment strategies

    • Product: Graduate learning outcomes, thesis quality, and graduates' contributions to the field of biology


Input Evaluation

Students of the Master's Programme in Biology come from diverse undergraduate backgrounds, such as Biology, Biotechnology, and Biology Education. Admission selection involves academic evaluations, research proposals, and interviews. The teaching staff predominantly consists of doctoral graduates from reputable national and international universities, possessing expertise relevant to the field of study.
